One of the US Navy's training methods is interactive electronic training manuals (aka IETM’s). These tutorials educate users on how to repair and replace various shipboard hardware. While working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, I was tasked with refining a overly complex user interface, upgrading the graphics, and migrating from a Flash-based platform to a browser-based experience. This was achieved by receiving constant feedback from trainers, sailors, subject matter experts and other members of the design team.
