Cisco Character Library.

Illustration/Animation

Over the years, at B2B, I had the chance to design multiple families of Cisco characters that were used across infographics, eBooks, videos and banner ads.

This would be an iterative process as I’d not only have to try and satisfy the needs of the project, the creative vision of the rep/stakeholders who owned the project, but also get their branding team to sign off on it.

Let’s take a look at two styles who made the cut.

A few years ago, things then took a turn for the more… cartoony.

It wasn’t a change I initially loved, but I began to grow fonder of these goofballs as I built up the world around them. This most notably happened while producing a series of banner ads for Cisco Designed. We got to see these characters working in coffee shops, stuck in line, working in warehouses, and more.

After creating the imagery for the animated ad, I then would go through the process of staging the main scene and then building out a short story board to submit for approval.

Once approved by the stakeholder(s), the banner was then animated in After Effects.

Wag on.

Over the years I produced a host of illustrations and animations for an array of projects for Cisco (and other clients). I'll leave you with a personal—and customer—favorite.
